Landscape Architect, nurseryman and avid bass fisherman Thomas A. Berthold died in July in a traffic accident. Born Sept. 15, 1957, to Alfred and Patricia (nee Thill) Berthold, the 48-year-old landscape professional died on July 5.
He married Lori Montano on June 22, 1985, in Woodstock, Ill. Mr. Berthold was an Army veteran and owned and operated Berthold Nurseries Company in Woodstock, north of Chicago. He was a Registered Certified Landscape Architect and had been a past president of the Ornamental Growers Association. In addition to running the nursery, Tom was an avid fisherman, and had previously owned the Big Buck’s Bass Shop. He fished in many bass tournaments. He was also a past member of the Woodstock Noon Rotary Club.
He is survived by his wife, Lori Berthold of Woodstock.
