Main Street 2000 New Tools for the New Millennium Boston, MA The National Trust for Historic Preservation is celebrating 20 years of Main Street success during Main Street 2000: National town Meeting in Boston, April 2-5. Boston, the first major U.S. city to embrace the program, is home to 19 Main Street neighborhood business districts, each with its own sense of community and culture. The theme for the 2000 town meeting is "New Tools for the New Millennium." More than 60 sessions will explore successful revitalization strategies and the challenges of e-commerce, multicultural environments, security and traffic issues and master planning.
