Steve West, a landscape contractor from Medford, Ore., allegedly holds the winning ticket to the record $340 million Powerball jackpot.
Oregon Lottery spokesman, Chuck Baumann said he was not able to confirm whether West won the jackpot because nobody from the West family has come to the lottery office with the ticket.
West says that he does not have plans to quit his job ?EUR??,,????'??? the only purchases he foresees are a new car and a vacation.
?EUR??,,????'??I still don?EUR??,,????'???t really believe that it?EUR??,,????'???s true,?EUR??,,????'?? said West. ?EUR??,,????'??It just really hasn?EUR??,,????'???t sunk in well. I?EUR??,,????'???m told by everybody else that this is a life-changing situation, and I didn?EUR??,,????'???t plan on wanting to change that much. I mean, the money always sounded great, but I didn?EUR??,,????'???t want to change my lifestyle to go along with it.?EUR??,,????'??
If the West family is indeed the winner, they have a year to formally claim the Powerball prize at lottery headquarters in Salem, Ore.
West and his family, who had never played the Powerball game before, did not watch the Powerball drawing on television. They only discovered that they held the winning ticket after checking the numbers online.
?EUR??,,????'??We went over and looked at the ticket, verified that it?EUR??,,????'???s a correct ticket and just haven?EUR??,,????'???t slept well the last two nights,?EUR??,,????'?? said West.
