The Frauenshuh Cancer Center is a patient care center located on the Park Nicollet Methodist Hospital campus. Landform designed a healing garden and provided landscape architecture and civil engineering services to construct the garden as part of more extensive campus-wide improvements. The garden is a living, growing, seasonal space that has become popular.
The center of the campus is serene, with a healing garden, two acres of green space, and over 250 new trees. Landform led site design efforts and, through 2022, provided ongoing consulting for the healing garden and grounds to maintain the original design intent as new facilities are added.
A recent addition to the garden included six lady slipper plants, the state flower of Minnesota, all of which are currently thriving.

Ferrari, Minneapolis, Minnesota

Landform's task was to provide site design services for a Ferrari dealership in Minneapolis. This involved finding a balance between the architectural needs of the building and the functional requirements of a car dealership. The design also had to fit into the city's landscape program and still convey the elegance associated with Ferrari.
Our engineering and land surveying teams were essential to tackle the project's difficulties, such as limited space and precise measurements. The complex curves and edges in the design, reflective of Ferrari's aesthetic, demanded a high degree of precision. Through careful work, we ensured the plan was executed accurately.
Our landscape architecture team incorporated elements into the surrounding area representing Ferrari's brand image with native plants and curved walkways. They managed to create an environment that suggests speed and elegance and is also environmentally friendly. Despite the challenges, we achieved a clean and polished dealership from Site to Finish?(R).

Webber Natural Swimming Pool, Minneapolis, Minnesota

Landform led the design efforts, including civil engineering, landscape architectural design, construction administration services, and an overseas natural swimming pool and an architect consultants on portions of the design and implementation.
As the first chemical-free, all-natural public swimming pool in the United States, the Webber Natural Swimming Pool is a self-contained swimming facility that uses plants and natural microbes from a nearby regeneration pond to clarify and purify the water instead of chemicals for sterilization
or disinfection.
Webber Swimming Pool was part of the Phase I master plan improvements, featuring a comprehensive array of facilities. The swimming area boasted a vast 16,800 square feet, including a lap pool for aquatic exercise. Additionally, there was a separate 4,500-square-foot wading pool for leisure. To embrace eco-friendliness, a 16,250-square-foot regeneration basin was incorporated, utilizing plants and microbes to biologically cleanse the water; this basin hosted an impressive diversity of over 7,600 plants, representing 36 different species. Complementing these aquatic features was a multi-purpose, temperature-controlled "Bathhouse" spanning 2,950 square feet, complete with common spaces, restrooms, sandy beach play areas, grassy lounges, and refreshing outdoor pool-side showers. Preparing for winter, the site provided warming houses for ice-skating and hockey on the pond.
Enhancing accessibility, new walking and biking paths were thoughtfully laid out throughout the grounds. Various additional amenities added to the charm, such as the relocation and reuse of historic park benches, bike racks, rain gardens, site lighting, site fencing, and even dedicated areas to accommodate food trucks.
