Vin Cipolla, president and CEO of the National Park Foundation (NPF), has named John J. Reynolds, FASLA, as NPF executive vice president for park grants and strategic alliances. The NPF was chartered by Congress in 1967 to raise private funds for the National Park Service (NPS). Reynolds holds a B.S. in landscape architecture from Iowa State University and a master?EUR??,,????'???s in landscape architecture from the College of Forestry at Syracuse University.

Reynolds began with NPS in 1962 and retired in 2002 after 40 years of service, then joined the NPF as a senior fellow to participate in program planning and to serve as liaison to the NPS for land acquisition, fundraising and grant-making. With NPS, he held positions ranging from landscape architect and park planner to park manager and program director. He served as NPS deputy director from 1993 to 1996, and was responsible for managing day-to-day operations nationwide. His most recent position with NPS was director of the Pacific West region. He is recognized for implementing environmental leadership practices throughout the park system.

He served five years on the U.S. delegation to the World Heritage Committee and currently chairs the Flight 93 National Memorial Advisory Commission. Reynolds is a member of the Advisory Council, Yosemite Fund and on the board of directors of the Yosemite National Institutes.
