The National Playground Compliance Group (NPCG), a subsidiary of the tire-recycling firm Greenman Technologies Inc., has assisted 10 Missouri schools in securing $200,000 in grants from the Missouri Department of Natural Resources Waste Tire grant program. The grant money will go to offset the purchase and installation of NPCG'S DuroMat safety tiles and playground equipment prior to commencement of the September 2010 school year.

The new safety surfacing at the schools will consume more than 160,000 pounds of recycled crumb rubber from Missouri waste tires. The Missouri Playground Compliance Program, a partnership formed between NPCG and the Missouri School Board Association, will oversee the playground installations. NPCG will provide full turnkey installation and certify the compliance of the NPCG playgrounds. All the playground sites will comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act accessibility mandates.
