Developed in New Zealand 14 years ago, the TerraTrencher has finally made its way to the United States and Canada. The patented trenching tool is powered by a two-stroke engine. It cuts a clean trench up to 27 inches deep and 1½ inches wide. Wider trenches for large diameter pipes, concrete foundations etc. can be achieved by two or more parallel cuts, then dug out. This award-winning invention has been used extensively, for more than 12 years, in residential, commercial and industrial applications. TerraTrencher is one of the world's smallest portable and cost-effective power trenchers. Time is saved with its impressive digging speed, of less than a minute per yard. It digs with minimal ground disturbance.
Custom shapes can be easily dug, such as curves and right angles. The 35 lbs. trencher can be hand-held for digging short runs and the custom-designed wheel support assembly is used for longer runs.
The TerraTrencher handles soil with aggregate up to three inches in diameter. The steel self-sharpening blades can cut through tree roots up to approximately one inch in diameter. When anything solid in the ground is encountered, an experienced operator will feel a bounce and it will raise the TerraTrencher bar up and over and then continue trenching. Removal of the obstruction is then done by hand pick, unless a utility is located. Did you call 811?
Large, expensive and cumbersome tractor-mounted or self-driven chain digging machines are no longer needed. In the time it takes to transport conventional trenching equipment, you can take a TerraTrencher out of your car, do the job and go home.
Since its introduction in the U.S. and Canadian markets this year, landscape contractors have started to utilize the TerraTrencher in their projects and have been raving about its ease of use, increased productivity and profitability on every job.
