For many turf managers translating Spanish is essential to better communication with their crew. Turf professionals struggling to translate directions on pesticide use for their Spanish-speaking workers now have help. Dow AgroSciences has developed two new "how-to" posters printed in English on one side and Spanish on the other.
The posters, which include directions on using Snapshot and Gallery specialty herbicides, were sent in April to about 8,000 landscape managers and nursery operators. The posters describe the best way to apply herbicides, including application rates, spray drift, clean up and storage.
Considering the important role Hispanic workers have in the industry, the poster program just makes sense. Dow AgroSciences wanted to provide materials that to help Spanish-speaking workers understand how to apply their herbicides with confidence, according to Brent Stauffacher, communications manager for the Specialties group at Dow AgroSciences.
