Adjusting to a new normal was the theme of 2020 for everyone, including CLARB. With a mission of protecting the public's health, safety, and welfare, all of our plans shifted with this top of mind.

What was to be a year-long celebration of CLARB's 50th anniversary instead became months of updates to our exam candidates on L.A.R.E. administration date changes and test center capacity information. CLARB is thrilled, though, to be celebrating 50 years of serving landscape architecture regulation and we are looking forward to what the next 50 years brings! Due to the impact of COVID-19, our 50th anniversary celebration and Annual Meeting made history by going virtual for the first time. CLARB is excited to be part of your past, present, and future licensure story!

For candidates on the path to licensure, many know that CLARB extended the L.A.R.E. administration in August of this year and prioritized remote proctoring to create additional access for candidates taking/writing sections 1 and 2 beginning with the December administration. CLARB also announced updates to the L.A.R.E. Orientation Guide and Candidate Agreement which is part of the required registration process for the L.A.R.E. CLARB is continuing to seek ways to best serve candidates on their path to licensure. In early 2021, CLARB will be conducting a job/task analysis survey where your input will directly assist us in forming the basis of the L.A.R.E. and meet your future needs. Keep an eye out for information related to this on CLARB's website www.CLARB.org and social media channels (@CLARBHQ on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram).

Throughout the year, CLARB has also continued its effort to support commonsense regulation of landscape architecture through partnerships and engagements with other landscape architecture organizations (ASLA, CSLA, LAF, CELA, LAAB, and LAAC), Alliance for Responsible Professional Licensing (ARPL), and Federation of Associations of Regulatory Boards (FARB). As a founding member of ARPL, CLARB is pleased to share a video highlighting the work of Chad Danos, a licensed Landscape Architect and current CLARB volunteer, as he explains the importance of licensure and the impact of regulation on the public. This video, along with ARPL's recently released interstate practice report, can be found on www.responsiblelicensing.org under the "News & Videos" and "Licensed To Move" tabs respectively.

Additionally, CLARB is excited to announce that Veronica Meadows, CLARB's Senior Director of Strategy, was appointed to FARB's Executive Board as a member-at-large, where she will bring the landscape architectural licensure perspective to a leadership team which includes members from the National Association of State EMS Officials, International Conference of Funeral Service Examining Boards, Inc., National Association of State Contractors Licensing Agencies, National Council of Architectural Registration Boards, Council for Interior Design Qualification, and Federation of State Massage Therapy Boards.

As the ongoing and unknown impact of COVID-19 continues, CLARB sends its best wishes for health and safety to all within our community. CLARB is looking forward to all opportunities to continue to support you through licensure now and in the future.
