CLARB Passes 2008 FY Budget and Motions

At the annual board of directors meeting of the Council of Landscape Architectural Registration Boards (CLARB) in Cleveland, Ohio, September 6-8, 2007, the board passed the 2008 FY budget and a number of motions:

A motion was passed to set the 2008 member board dues at $4,550 and exam fees at $950, and to pre-approve 2010 member board dues and exam fees?EUR??,,????'??+member dues at $4,875 (maximum) and exam fees at $980 (maximum).

A motion was passed to eliminate the Center for Collaboration and Education in Design (C2Ed) program as soon as possible. C2Ed is CLARB?EUR??,,????'???s electronic publishing arm for educational materials for design professions. The board directed the staff to develop a strategy to support existing exam services offered by C2Ed, but to maintain the current exam education products until the board decides what should be provided.

A motion was also passed to eliminate fingerprinting at check-in for the multiple-choice exam administrations at Prometric test centers beginning with the March 2008 administration. Exam security is still an issue with for member boards, as is identification of candidates. The staff is exploring alternatives for examinee identification.

The board adopted a ?EUR??,,????'??strategic review/renewal?EUR??,,????'?? plan and
directed the staff to work with the executive committee to refine it.
