The American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA) has selected Rain Bird?EUR??,,????'???s Xerigation??????oe drip irrigation system for the green roof recently constructed at ASLA headquarters in Washington, D.C.

A consistent trend in European architecture since the 1950s, green roofs emerged in modern American architectural plans beginning in the late 1990s.?????EUR??,,?EUR A green roof generally employs a waterproof membrane, a root repellant layer, drainage, filter appurtenances and specialized soil mixes and plantings. Green roofs help improve air quality, regulate roof temperatures, reduce building heating and cooling costs, and provide sound insulation and storm water retention.

Drip irrigation provides precise applications of water to the roof?EUR??,,????'???s lightweight, porous, allowing better water retention and reducing evaporation. Two drip control zones will be installed. A drip line with 0.6 gallons-per-hour emitters spaced 12 inches apart will be placed in the deeper soils. A controller and rain sensor will ensure irrigation efficiently.
