Biography:

Donald Bottger former Superintendent of Maintenance at Viejas Casino in San Diego. He has 32 years experience in the horticultural field, and he is a Certified Grounds Manager, Certified Arborist, CDPR Qualified license holder, member of the executive board on the Professional Ground Management Society (Treasurer), OSHA Authorized Outreach Trainer for 10 and 40 hour and has Hazwoper certification.

Course Title: Employee Safety in the Landscape

Course Description: Comprehensive Safety Programs for the Landscape Industry

The talk will concern itself with how employers can develop safety programs for the landscape industry that are not only compliant with regulations but also effective in their outcomes. The class will talk about regulatory requirements, safety meetings, post incident and post near-miss investigations, safety suggestion programs, management buy-in and the personalization of safety training programs.
