2005 ANLA Legislative Conference on Tap in July


The American Nursery & Landscape Association's will hold its biennial legislative conference in Washington, DC, July 17-21. The theme is ?EUR??,,????'??One Green Industry, Voice, Future: Make Yourself Heard.?EUR??,,????'??

The Horticultural Research Institute (HRI), the OFA, the ?EUR??,,????'??Association of Floriculture Professionals?EUR??,,????'?? (formerly the Ohio Florists' Association), the Tree Care Industry Association (TCIA), the National Christmas Tree Association (NCTA), and ANLA have all partnered for this event. In addition, the Professional Landcare Network (PLANET) will hold its 2005 Legislative Day on the Hill and Renewal & Remembrance Project at Arlington National Cemetery in conjunction with the legislative conference.

Speakers for the legislative conference include:

Mary Matalin , who served a dual role at the White House as assistant to George Bush and counselor to Dick Cheney, will speak during a luncheon to share her insider perspective.

Senator Judd Gregg (R-NH) will discuss economic issues.

Jonathan Snare , the assistant secretary of labor for the Occupational Safety & Health Administration, will talk on OSHA's role in setting and enforcing standards for the green industry.

Henry Gillet , a ?EUR??,,????'??legislative agent?EUR??,,????'?? for the Massachusetts Nursery & Landscape Association, will speak about maximizing the political power of the green industry.
