The Design Center at The Landscape Expo first started in 2019, and, despite the show's hiatus in 2020, is back and bigger than ever. Created for landscape architects, landscape designers, and landscape contractors who do design work, the Design Center will feature dozens of exhibitors and six expertly led seminars.

On Wednesday (November 16), you will be able to enjoy and learn from a presentation led by Bob Scarfo, an Emeritus professor with Washington State University, titled Good Design is Good Storytelling. Scarfo's interactive session will include participant exercises about developing the story of the landscape design. Mike Garcia, founder of Enviroscape LA, will then be speaking on Creating Pollinator Gardens, and Steven R Allen, landscape lighting specialist with PoolCorp, will be leading a presentation about Tying the Pool and Landscape Lighting Together. Connect lessons from Allen's seminar with the pool and lighting design exhibitors in Design One Source and QDI Surfaces with their outdoor decking and pool surfacing, and landscape lighting design exhibitors in Alpha Outdoor Lighting and Corona Lighting.

Day two of the expo (November 17), will host three more seminars with Brandon Elrod, community forester with the Community Forest Council, discussing Trees as Major Design Features; Douglas Kent, founder of Douglas Kent+Associates, talking about Firescaping; and Kathryn Toth, lighting design with Theia Light Design, leading a seminar on Landscaping Lighting Composition and Recommended Practices.

Design is a major focus of The Landscape Expo - Anaheim with exhibitors covering several different areas including lighting with LED power and Vista Professional Outdoor Lighting, outdoor living and fire features with Breck Ironworks, The Outdoor Plus, and Warming Trends, paving design with Alliance Designer Products, Corona Clay, EagleSpec, and MS International, and planters and pottery with Del Rey Castings, Asian Ceramics, Jackalope, and Pottery Mfg. & Dist, Inc.
