The USGBC has announced that the 2019 Getting to Zero Forum has been set. The event is dedicated to finding solutions in scaling zero energy and zero carbon buildings. The event is scheduled to take place October 9-11 at the Oakland Marriott Center in Oakland, Calif.
According to the USGBC, more than 500 professionals, including policymakers, building owners and real estate representatives are scheduled to attend. The association says the forum is aimed at developing pathways to meet energy and climate objectives, boost economic growth and achieve goals set out in the Paris Agreement.
Speakers will share examples of long-term strategies to achieve energy and carbon goals, leveraging voluntary requirements, stretch codes and mandatory codes, in concert with other tools, to prime the market to be code-ready. Presenters will also explore the status and progress of "getting to zero" programs.
